We are partnering with Louisville Build A Bed, a project is coordinated by JCPS AmeriCorps, to help provide beds for children in need. We need a total of 17 volunteers to build, wrap beds, load, and paint bed slats on Saturday, April 15 from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Broadbent Arena.

In preparation for the Build A Bed event, we are also collecting the following donations:

• 125 new pillows
• 125 new pillowcases
• 125 new neutral colored twin sheet sets
• 50 new twin blankets
• 125 new teddy bears

The bedding and teddy bears will be delivered to the children with each bed! If you are unable to participate in the build, you can still help by donating the listed items above.

Louisville Build A Bed believes in “building dreams one bed at a time.”  It’s estimated that anywhere from 10,000 to 13,000 students go homeless in Louisville. Louisville Build A Bed aims to create a response to this need in the community. In 2018, Louisville Build A Bed was an WLKY Bell Award recipient. The Bell Award recognizes individuals/organizations who have demonstrated the true “Spirit of Louisville” through selfless volunteer efforts and seeks to inspire all residents to engage in community service.
