We are partnering with Louisville Build A Bed, a project is coordinated by JCPS AmeriCorps, to help provide beds for children in need. We need a total of 20 volunteers to build, wrap beds, load, and paint bed slats on Saturday, April 13 from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Broadbent Arena.

Louisville Build A Bed believes in “building dreams one bed at a time.”  It’s estimated that anywhere from 10,000 to 13,000 students go homeless in Louisville. Louisville Build A Bed aims to create a response to this need in the community. In 2018, Louisville Build A Bed was an WLKY Bell Award recipient. The Bell Award recognizes individuals/organizations who have demonstrated the true “Spirit of Louisville” through selfless volunteer efforts and seeks to inspire all residents to engage in community service.

There are three different jobs you can sign up for: wrap station to assist with wrapping the beds in plastic wrap upon completion, build team to build the bed frames, and load team to assist with loading the beds on the Uhaul.
