Scripture: Matthew 27:11-26

There are more than 300 women mentioned in scripture. Women like Eve, Sarah, Rebekah, Ruth, Esther, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of Jesus, and others are a central part of our faith vocabulary. Women like Jochebed, Zipporah, Hannah, Rizpah, Dorcas, and many others are not as familiar, but their stories are equally important. Today we begin a new series that will explore some of the lesser-known women in the Bible and the impact they have made on our faith. That journey begins with a woman simply known as “Pilate’s wife.”
