Where Learning Begins
Middletown Christian Preschool and Kindergarten is a weekday school for children ages 1-Kindergarten. We are conveniently located on the Middletown Christian Church campus, at the corner of Watterson Trail and Blankenbaker Parkway. Our school is known for its warm environment, excellent teachers and Christian foundation. We hope you’ll consider choosing MC P&K for your child’s preschool experience.
The regular Parent’s Day Out, Preschool, and Kindergarten day is from 9:00 am to 12:15 pm. Extended Day options are available for the days that your child is enrolled. You may choose either a 2 p.m. or a 3 p.m. pickup time (exception: for Kindergarteners the only pick up option on Tuesdays/Thursdays is 3:00 p.m.). Yes. It is our mission to meet the need for a Christian early childhood educational facility and to contribute to the wholesome growth and development of the future citizens of the community. Our school will provide a setting where people of various religious and ethnic backgrounds can work together for a common interest.
Middletown Christian Preschool & Kindergarten offers HANDS-ON activities and learning experiences which capitalize on your child’s natural curiosity and desire to learn. All of the teachers in your child’s age group work together to plan fun and exciting ways to meet the goals set for them. They will plan fun centers and activities for them each and every day.
Enrollment shall be open to any child, provided the school can meet the needs of that child. Enrollment shall be granted without discrimination in regard to sex, race, creed, color, or political belief. For the Parents’ Day Out, 2’s, 3’s, and 4’s classes, age groupings are based on the child’s age as of August 1st (EXAMPLE: A child must be 2 by August 1st to be enrolled in the 2’s class). For Kindergarten 2016-2017, the child must be 5 by October 1st. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE GIVEN TO THIS RULE.
We do not require our one year olds, two year olds, or three year olds to be potty trained. It is required that our four year olds and kindergarteners be potty trained. If you are actively training, please communicate this with your child’s teacher.
We will not administer any form of medication to your child, unless it is required for an emergency situation, such as the use of an EpiPen. Medications for such emergency situations must be provided by the parent in the original prescription package with a signed permission slip that gives us step by step instructions.
Our goal is to help your child realize what behavior is acceptable and what isn’t. We must show proper behavior through our own actions, for a child will act as they are treated. We feel that proper discipline must be one that either maintains or increases the child’s self-esteem. Our teachers keep your child’s feelings in mind at all times in order to be helpful and not hurtful.
We hope to help your child work through conflict on their own. We will give them the tools they need to resolve conflicts in a peaceful manner. We will help them assess the problem and also help them find ways to resolve the issue. We will also redirect them if necessary. A time out chair will be used only when absolutely necessary and then only as a “cooling off, calming down” time.
The school reserves the right to dismiss a child for reasons of inability to adjust to the school program.
