In this message, we explore one of the most important events in scripture and in the history of our church. Filled with controversy and disagreement, if the situation had been handled incorrectly, it could have destroyed the early church. The good news is that the disciples, including Paul, rose to the occasion. Their actions not only made the church as we know it possible, but they also gave the modern church an example of how to deal with disagreement and controversy in the church today.
**A note from Brian: In this sermon, I describe the Talmud in a way that places its authorship before the time of Paul. The Talmud was not formally compiled until well after Paul died. However, the sentiments toward Gentiles that I attributed to the Talmud were part of the religious culture before and during Paul’s life. I apologize for any confusion this may have caused.**
