Scriptures: Deuteronomy 15:1-11, Leviticus 19:9-10, 25:8-12

One of the most radical and just stories of the Bible is that of the sabbath and jubilee years. The first took place every seven years, and the second took place every fifty years. In both, the land and the people were not only given rest but also experienced a restoration that may sound extreme to the modern ear. Perhaps it’s time we reimagine our understanding of these things.
