The story of Zacchaeus is one of the most familiar stories in Scripture. It even comes with a “theme song” many of us learned as children. Tradition tells us this is a story about the personal redemption of a tax collector. But what if we’ve been reading this story the wrong way? Perhaps it’s time to write a new song.
