In this series, we will explore the foundations of our faith as we explore what we believe about the God, Jesus, the Bible, ministry and the sacraments, the church, and what it means to be a community of faith.

Series Outline

Intro

Since 1836, Middletown Christian Church has been a community of faith dedicated to sharing the love of Christ with its members and community. As we begin this series exploring our core beliefs, we will begin what who we are as a church and how that shapes what we believe.

God

The worship of God is central to our faith. But who is God? What is God? There is a lot we can know about the one that we call the Creator of all things, but a lot of mysteries remain. Join us for a sermon that dives into this important and eternal topic.

Scripture

The Bible is our faith’s sacred text and is central to how we understand our faith. Still, there’s a lot of disagreement on how the Bible is supposed to be read and interpreted. In this sermon, we unpack our church’s understanding of how to read and understand this amazing book.

Ministry & the Sacraments

Who is allowed to participate in a church community says a lot about that community’s beliefs. At Middletown Christian Church, we not only practice an open communion table, but we also have an approach to faith that invites all to participate in our ministries.

Community & Service

The church not only exists to worship God and build a strong community of Christians, but it also exists to serve the world. At Middletown Christian, we take that call seriously. Join us for a sermon that celebrates the many ways we do this and why we believe it is central to who we are.
