Whose Side is Jesus On?

Scriptures: Joshua 5:13-15, Mark 10:35-45, Luke 4:16-21

We often ask if Jesus is on our side. We want him to affirm our beliefs, our politics, our causes, and even our conflicts. But what if that’s the wrong question? The better question isn’t whether Jesus is on our side, but whether we are on his? When we make Jesus our ally, we can turn him into a weapon against those who disagree with us. But when we follow Jesus, we must be willing to let him challenge our assumptions, cross our boundaries, and call us toward a new way of loving others.
