Someone may need this note to begin the day. I don’t know who you are or what’s on your mind, but you must decide to move on. You are stuck, and it’s not a good place to place to be. You need to step up and say, “I don’t care how bad it is. I don’t care how disappointed I am. I don’t care how much this hurts me on the inside. But I’m not going to let this get the best of me. I’m going to stand up and move on with my life. I’m not alone in this. God is with me.”
Sometimes the best thing we can do is keep moving forward, taking the next best step in front of us. Perseverance is not giving up. It is persistence and tenacity, the effort required to do something and keep doing it till the end, even if it’s difficult. Robert Louis Stevenson said, “that saints are sinners who never gave up.”
Perseverance is refusing to give up when every cell in your body says quit. Psalm 23 says that we should “walk through the valley of death,” not make our home there.
The message for the weekend is You’re Going to Need this…Perseverance. We are going to go to the top of the mountain and visit with Moses, who is 120 years old. I’m going to paint a picture of what perseverance looks like and what it means to finish well.
How do you respond when significant obstacles block your path? When you experience disappointments and setbacks?
See You Sunday,
