DESCRIPTION:The truth is\, everything changes. The truth is\, most of us don’t like it. But the truth also is\, even if everything around us changes\, God does not. Join us on High School Retreat for Even If… as we explore the ways that God is always with us\, helping us overcome our fears\, and making us stronger in the face of all that changes around us. DESCRIPTION:Join our partners at The Ace Project for a day of service on MLK Day. Volunteers will clean\, declutter\, and organize the center at 2508 Portland Ave from 10 AM-1 PM. DESCRIPTION:A new year has many LGBTQ+ people and allies wondering about the future of LGBTQ+ rights in our state and country. Join us for “Where Do We Go From Here?: A Conversation About the Future of LGBTQ+ Rights & How to Prepare” on Wednesday\, January 29th at 6:30 PM in the Arise Youth Center. \nPanelists will discuss the current state of queer and trans rights in Kentucky and the US\, talk a little about what might be coming over the next few years\, and give some practical ways queer individuals and families can prepare from a legal standpoint. They’ll also talk about the work their organizations are doing in Kentucky and how you can get involved. \nPanelists include Elizabeth M. Howell (Attorney at Lynch\, Cox\, Gilman & Goodman)\, Oliver Hall (Trans Health Director at Kentucky Health Justice Network\, they/them)\, Chris Hartman (Executive Director of the Fairness Campaign\, he/him)\, and Nathan Hardymon (Attorney at Lynch\, Cox\, Gilman & Goodman\, he/him). \nChildcare available upon request. Light refreshments provided. This is a free event open to all LGBTQ+ individuals\, families\, and anyone interested in learning how to support the LGBTQ+ community. \nHosted by the Rainbow Christians small group.
