DESCRIPTION:URBAN PROMISE: CAMDEN NJ\nYOUTH MISSION TRIP ‘25 \nTrip dates: July 20-26\nTeam/parent meeting: June 29 (final payments due)\nFundraiser night: March 1\nCost: $450 ($50 deposit due upon registration) \nOur partnership with Urban Promise in Camden\, New Jersey\, provides the opportunity to invest in an otherwise overlooked community in a very unique way. In our week there\, we will partner with Urban Promise’s Street Leaders – local teens who invest in mentoring younger children – as we assist in their summer camp program. We will also do some hands-on work around their facilities to keep their ministry vibrant and inviting. Students currently in high school (9th-12th grades) are eligible to participate. Current 8th graders entering high school in the fall of 2025 may also participate if there are available spots. We plan to be back at church for pick-up around 9 pm\, but we’ll be sure your student communicates specifics with you as we’re headed back! \nCOST: $47  PAY & SIGN UP HERE\nStudents will need money for their own food and any purchases in the park (beverages are FREE at Holiday World) and a fast food dinner stop on the road back home. Holiday World is cashless\, so they will need a credit/debit card or will have to exchange their cash for a card at a kiosk inside the park.  \nParents – you are welcome to join us\, as we’d love to have the extra chaperones or drivers. Just grab yourself a ticket\, and note in the box whether you’re available to drive and transport students and/or chaperone a small group of students (don’t worry… we’ll give them assigned group check-in times\, so you don’t have to stay with them all day).

DESCRIPTION:On June 17th our partner organization Catholic Charities of Louisville will be joining with the other two resettlement agencies in Louisville to celebrate World Refugee Day. World Refugee Day is an international event celebrating and supporting those that have been forced to flee their homes and start over. This event in Louisville is to remind all of our refugees in our city that they are loved and welcomed here. \nThis year\, this event will not be open to the public because of ongoing safety issues. However\, they could still use a little support. On Sunday June 15th we will be collecting desserts to provide for the event. If you are a great cook or just want to bring something premade\, all desserts are welcome. This is a one-hour training via Zoom where we will go over what the Buddy Break program is all about\, connecting with kids with disabilities\, safety protocols\, what a typical day looks like\, and more. This volunteer training is required for all individuals who want to become a Buddy\, and it is catered to all levels of experience. \nBuddy Break  is a FREE Parents’ Day Out/respite program where kids with all types of special needs (VIP kids) have FUN while their parents get a BREAK. At Buddy Break\, VIP kids and their siblings make new friends\, play games\, do crafts\, hear children’s stories\, enjoy music\, and more! DESCRIPTION:Help deliver meals to Louisville families in need! We will meet at 10:30 a.m. on  Saturday\, April 19\, at MCC and package meals in Fellowship Hall. Afterward\, we will deliver the food boxes to feed at least 30 families for a week. \nThis is part of The Hope Buss’s HopeFULL program\, which exists to increase access to food for underserved families in Louisville’s West End.
