DESCRIPTION:In the aftermath of last week’s tornados in much of our state\, we are partnering with an organization helping a mobile home neighborhood in London\, Kentucky\, to provide some relief.\n\n\nThey need donations of the following items:\n\n• 2 Large Popup Canopies* Please email/ text Corey Miller if you are going to supply one of these so we do not end up with too many.\n• Shampoo\n• Conditioner\n• Kids detangler\n• Dawn Power Spray\n• Deodorant\n• Toothpaste\n• Large Lint Rollers\n• Kids Toys\n• Large Trash Bags\n• Gifts Cards for Lowes\, Harbor Freight\, or Ace Hardware to buy trailer specific repair items.\n\n\n\nIf you are unsure what to get\, gift cards go a long way to buy the tools/supplies needed to rebuild.\n\n\n\nYou can drop these items off in the foyer of the church between 8:30 AM and 1:30 PM this Sunday\, May 25.\n\n\n\nWe are still determining if people-power is needed. DESCRIPTION:On June 17th our partner organization Catholic Charities of Louisville will be joining with the other two resettlement agencies in Louisville to celebrate World Refugee Day. World Refugee Day is an international event celebrating and supporting those that have been forced to flee their homes and start over. This event in Louisville is to remind all of our refugees in our city that they are loved and welcomed here. \nThis year\, this event will not be open to the public because of ongoing safety issues. However\, they could still use a little support. On Sunday June 15th we will be collecting desserts to provide for the event. If you are a great cook or just want to bring something premade\, all desserts are welcome. We will also do some hands-on work around their facilities to keep their ministry vibrant and inviting. Students currently in high school (9th-12th grades) are eligible to participate. SUMMARY:Build a Bed Build Day
DESCRIPTION:Hundreds of Louisville community members will come together for the annual AmeriCorps Build-A-Bed event on April 18th to build beds for JCPS students at Broadbent Arena. This year\, the goal is to build 150 beds. \nThis volunteer opportunity has three different volunteer positions the build team (7 volunteers) for individuals assembling the beds\, wrap station (8 volunteers) to wrap the completed beds\, and truck loaders (2 volunteers) to assist with loading beds on the truck for delivery. \nContact: Corey Miller\, cmiller@middletownchristian.org \n
