Juneteenth Walking Tours
Sunday, June 26th is Juneteenth, a day commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. Louisville’s location on a river made it a major hub for the slave trade. Join us for two walking tours that visit significant sites related to this history in Louisville, including the Garrison Slave Pen, the Portland Wharf, and a stop on the Underground Railroad.
Tour 2: Bus departs at 3 PM from MCC, includes the same route two-mile route along the riverfront as the first tour but without the two-mile walk.
Both tours return to MCC by 5:30 PM. All ages welcome.
Tours are weather permitting. Please wear appropriate shoes and clothing and bring a water bottle to fill from the water jugs which will be provided.
If you are interested in the Walking Tour but were unable to reserve a spot, please contact Bill Wilson at [email protected]
Register below by Thursday, June 23 at 12 PM.
